Another very good win by the Premier Reserve side at home. The Boys have retained a third spot on the table with Petone ahead by 3 points having played 5 games. This weekend has our Boys playing the bottom of the table, Wainuiomata. Never let that be a factor in the game this Saturday. Wainuiomata have a habit of playing well at home, irrespective of the previous games played. That said, this Premier Reserve are looking fitter than they have
in past Seasons. We are definitely looking top 4, but the way the Boys are going they may have the run of the semis and Finals.
Once again the Premiers had another very good win against Poneke. We have a great bunch of Individuals playing as a Team – this is our point of difference. It is very apparent the Boys are playing for each other and this is showing, particularly defensively on those everlasting attacks on our line. Our Premiers are second on the table with Wainuiomata 2 points behind. This weekend will set the foundation for the semis and Finals. Once
again, Wainuiomata is a proud Club that does not take Prisoners at home.
Super Rugby is coming to an end with two semis played last Saturday. We all know the outcome and the incorrect or non-call of illegal play in the last seconds of the Hurricanes vs Crusaders game. Now in the past, we all join forces to back the Crusaders vs the Jaguares (or is that Argentina?).
The initial All Black squad looks pretty formidable. A huge heads up to Liam Squire who has admitted he ain’t quite ready – brave decision! Says a lot about the man.
As I write this Report, I am watching the Women’s Rugby Super Series from San Diego, where our Black Ferns are leading fairly comfortably against the USA. Final score 33-0.
