(TRFC) are proud of the impact that we have built over the years and the opportunities created on and off the field making a difference to our supporters, players and their families.
2017 was no different with successes and achievements that will deliver far-reaching benefits for Wellington Rugby and beyond. In particularly it was a good year for coaches and players with a record number making representative teams, but there is no
room for complacency.
Preparation is well on the way for the 2018 season. There is a massive amount of continued effort to ensure we do our part in player welfare, health, business outcomes and development. Our priority continues to be enhancing player development, establishing progression pathways and promoting them to higher honours.
As a result Tawa have gone big
securing an experienced international team of Steve So’oialo (Rugby Development Officer), Dion Waller (Director of Rugby) and Rodney So’oialo (Premier Coach) who will also be focusing a lot on the colts this year. . Adding to this powerhouse are the return of former premier players and 2017 coaches Vice Saletele and Douglas Fletcher. The services of new recruit Damian Rapira-Davies has also been secured and he will take
on the role of premier backs coach after a successful stint running the Wellington Axemen’s 7’s programme.
Training for keen premier players start 6.00pm Tuesday 28 November at Lyndhurst Park.
For all other teams preseason will start 6.00pm Tuesday 9 January 2018 at Lyndhurst Park
