The Super Rugby has started!! What a great start it was with the Blues taking on last years Champion side at home and winning a game that could have gone either way - in fact a draw would have been a great result. During the after-match chats, Ben Smith spoke as though the Highlanders had lost by 20 points, not
just two, such are the high standards of this Southern side. A lesson in humility and searching for better results. It really appeared that both sides were enjoying the opportunity to get back on the field. Our Wellington man (Tana) looked pretty relieved and rightly so.
On to the next game. The Brumbies looked as though they wanted to play their game on their field their way - Moore led from the front
and who can remember him running so much. Clearly he got a DVD set for Xmas showing Dane Coles "Most Explosive Runs". Our Boys - I actually have better things to report on .....
BRING BACK TOLU !!
On the local Club front, we have had some wonderful things
happening.
First: Two of our Boys made the Hurricanes Under 20 team that played the Blues. They are Pepesana Patafilo and Kemera Hauiti-Parapara. We congratulate Pepesana and Kemera and cant wait to see them perform at home for the Club.
Second: Tele'a Seumanutafa, our flying Flanker and scoring machine has
been selected to play for Manu Samoa in the Las Vegas 7's. A great opportunity for a gifted Player.
Our Premier competition starts on 25th March, Good Friday, at home. We are hosting the Axemen with, I believe, a new 1st Five.
