Well here we go ... the work has gone in, the Players are itching to go, the Coaches have done all they can, Managers are sorting and the Tawa Fans are on edge awaiting another season of the World's Greatest Game!

 

Last night I was at the Club putting the final touches to the jerseys (no I was not ironing them) and I must admit to a feeling and sense of excitement. The gym was abuzz with the Guys talking to each other, poking a bit of fun and going through their warmups. It feels like there is a very good vibe in the Club.

 

One of the best features this weekend is that we are starting with two home games at Lyndhurst. The Firsts are at 1.15pm with the Premiers at 3.00pm. Both teams are playing Hutt Old Boys Marist. The Valley Boys always bring good teams and a good following of Fans. This should be a grand spectacle as all teams will be wanting early victory in the season opener.

 

A bit of a shame with the 'Canes last weekend, but I left Westpac having seen a very good game of Rugby. This Hurricanes team is one with a very good future and I believe in what Mark Hammet is doing and where he is taking his young troup. There are a bunch of stars in this team, so it all looks exceptionally good for the future.
