Hi
Club Captain Report
Another full-on week of indifferent weather - but at least it is not cold.
This weekend is the Hertz Sevens - party time in the World's Greatest Capital! It also signals the start of our rugby season with the Super 15 franchises doing last preparations for another hard season and that it's not long to go until club rugby starts again.
I was at the club yesterday and noted a reasonable turnout for training, but more numbers are needed. Our coaching team are putting in a lot of effort, so let's ensure our players get on board. We have in place some of the best coaches in this year's competition. I even saw Petelo out running with the boys - what dedication! If you know the whereabouts of some of the guys yet to turn up, let the coaching team know so we can follow up.
Good to see Hosea Gear back in our Sevens team along with young Savea. Sevens is included in the Olympics for 2016. What more incentive do young guys need? Imagine winning a Gold at the Olympics? Someone has to be in that team - and who better than a couple of Tawa Boys?
Well, let's hope that the NZ Sevens team can live up to our very high (and often unreasonably so) expectations.
