Hi
Club Captain Report
Hi
there fellow Tawa Rugby Supporters, Fans, Players etc. The season is on
its way. It was reported at last night's Committee Meeting that the
pre-season training program has started on Tuesday & Thursday at the
Clubrooms. It has also been noted, that although the numbers are a
little less than expected at this time, there are a good representation
of Premier Players. This augers well when our Senior Players are leading
from the front and leading by example.
This
is going to be an interesting season with Norths having changed their
Senior Coach, Petone having
gained a new Senior Coach and Rimutaka now in the Premier mix. Make no
mistake, Norths will be strong, but with the Premier Coaches we have in
place, we will be up to take on all comers. I believe we are putting the
final touches to the Senior First Coaches as well - another strong
line-up.
There is also
talk of an ex-Coach wishing to enter a team in to the Reserve
Competition this season, and we are very pleased about that. This is a
good grade that we have had good success with in the past. It also goes
to show that there are Guys who want to play for Tawa at differing
levels and this is great for the strength of our Club.
Incidently, I was speaking with Fonzie last evening and it seems the Prezzies are raring to return to their usual form.
Once again I have to reiterate that I feel this will
be Tawa's year, but we need numbers to pre-season to get the Team spirit up where we left off last season.
