Kevin, an open side flanker, played in
the Under 19 team before being promoted to the top senior team which played in the senior third division, and after a short period living in Australia he returned to captain Tawa when they won promotion to senior second division in 1978. In the early 80s, he moved to Pōneke to chase his dream of playing senior first rugby, where he also made the Wellington Lions NPC team. Kevin returned to Tawa to help them earn promotion to senior first division (now Premier
division) in 1987 until his retirement, after which he took up the coaching reins of the top team.
Kevin played over 100 matches for the top team of both Tawa and Pōneke.
Nigel was a hard working front row forward, who played a handful of
games for the Tawa top team while predominately being an integral member of Tawa’s second and third teams. He was a cornerstone member of the club who played well over 200 games before retiring in 2007 at the age of 50 years old.
Both brothers were recognised for their commitment and contribution to the club with Life membership, and can often
still be seen on the sidelines supporting their club.
