Hi ,
Greetings all,
Another Super season completed and another win to the sheep shaggers. Not everyone’s favourite team, but you have to congratulate excellence and the way the team has bounced back
from last year’s disappointing campaign.
Wahs... Like Steve Hansen would say, ‘let’s just flush that one down the dunny’.
Tawa, like many other clubs at this time of year, is going through a bit of player injury and unavailability crises. It’s times
like these, with the play-offs only weeks away, that a club's depth is really tested. Isn’t it great to see ‘evergreen’ players like Jeff Makapelu, Chris Middleton, and Matt Treeby putting their hands up and lacing up their boots for the Premiers and the likes of Jon Masaga doing the same for the Premier 2s. It has greatly assisted in ensuring the teams remain competitive and maintain their momentum.
In saying this, you can’t plug all the gaps, and so it wasn’t a surprise to see the Reserves lose to Paremata-Plimmerton at Ngāti Toa Domain 37-22 in what is going to be a very competitive second round competition.
The Ducks continued their winning ways with a close 33-29 win against Johnsonville Terrahawks at Redwood
Park to consolidate themselves at the top of the table. The Ducks play a great brand of footy, and although they do have a good group of loyal supporters, it would be great to see them play at the home of rugby Lyndhurst Park more regularly.
