Hi ,
Welcome all.
Another eventful round of club footy played on Saturday in idyllic conditions.
The results for our Premier teams didn't go our way on what were very competitive matches.
The Premier Reserves started well but faded over the closing stages to be well beaten.
Discipline and how to
interact with the ref were probably our Premiers' biggest work-ons. It’s difficult to win a football game when you incur the number of penalties we did, let alone having four players sin binned and playing with only 12 men at one stage. The ironic thing was that during this period of time we played exceptionally well, dominating the ball and field possession. Probably a reflection of the wealth of experience we have across the field. That the game
finished with Tawa surging over the line for the winning score only for the ref to rule it out due to being unsighted was testament to the team's never give up attitude.
A point is a point, and as they say, the season is more of a marathon than a sprint.
I watched the Colts play Johnsonville in what could only be said was a training run, with Tawa winning 120 nil! Not really good for rugby, but it did show we have a lot of exceptional talent coming through.
The Ducks continued on their winning way, and our Reserves had a good away win against Upper Hutt and proved you don’t
need any reserves to win a game!
