Hi ,
Greetings,
What a weekend. Just wall to wall live sport. Rugby, league, cricket, basketball, golf, horse racing, and for those petrol heads, formula one in
Shanghai.
Mixed results depending on who you support and not good for those chores around home, but there is always next week!
The Canes had a BYE, but I enjoyed the fightback by Moana against the Chiefs. Aussie rugby is definitely improving with the way the Reds played against the Landers,
and Tahs v Brumbies was a real contest.
Tawa had its sojourn down to Christchurch to play Linwood. From all reports, the trip ticked a lot of boxes, and was very beneficial with a competitive hit out against the defending Christchurch champions.
Dave Banks,
our club Chairman and traveling reporter, provided the following:
Yes we had two very tough games with two wins and some good performances from the new younger boys and our older players. Nigel Hunt made a return to the field, and Tito played a full 80 minutes and scored a try. He has not played 80 minutes in years. Faraimo was back 12 with a very physical first half performance. James So'oialo
returned to the field as well - he turned the game for us early in the second half - and Hemi Fermanis had a run in the 13 jersey.
So it was a very successful trip with some good team bonding. The younger boys enjoyed the trip away. Our great hosts bussed us to and from the ground and airport. Anything other than that, you cant put in the newsletter! 😊 What happens on tour stays on tour!
This week our pre-season programme finishes with a hit out against the Upper Hutt Rams at Maidstone. For anyone that wants to support the game, kick-off is 12.00pm for the Colts, 1.15pm for the Premier Reserves, and 2.35pm for the Premiers (subject to change). Come along and support our teams for their last game before
the season begins!
