Hi ,
It was another awesome weekend of code.
I just watched England demolish the woeful Welsh and then France slowly dismantle a very competitive Scotland to win the Six Nations. Whatever team the French bring out
for the July internationals against the ABs is going to be more than competitive. This is a reflection of not only having probably the best domestic competition in the world, but also the professional second tier competition that they have had in France since rugby went professional in 1995.
The Super Rugby competition just keeps on giving. The Canes v Landers and Blues v Chiefs were cliffhangers, played with real
passion in front of good sized, boisterous crowds. We're even seeing some off-field innovation with the introduction of a kids round played in superhero jerseys. Great to see the mighty Canes chose Captain America, aka Steve Rogers! 😎
Onto local news. Tawa played their first pre-season game on Saturday against the Norths at Mana College with a late morning
kick-off. We had over 60 players taking part, with heaps of passionate support from both clubs. It was played in 5 x 20 minute sections. I'm not sure why this was the case, but it might have had something to do with Homegrown being in town and the players wanting to multitask!
