Club Notice

Hi ,

We are thrilled to announce that Steve So'oialo has been honored as a Life Member of the Tawa Rugby Football Club!

Joining us in late 2010, Steve’s commitment and influence have been extraordinary, both on and off the field.

He began as our Premier Coach in 2011, leading the team to victory in the Hardham Cup Final against OBU—the last time we competed in that tournament.

In 2013, he pulled on the boots and played an instrumental role in a legendary season, helping us secure the Jubilee Cup, Swindale Shield, Bill Brien Shield, and all our cherished rivalry trophies.

Steve’s on-field leadership and game management were key, earning him the Jim Brown Plate which is awarded to the Player of the Jubilee Cup final.

After hanging up his boots in 2015, Steve returned to coaching and has been a driving force as our Premier Coach ever since. In 2019, he stepped up as our High Performance Manager, overseeing the coaching and development of our Premier, Premier Reserve, and Colts teams.

Steve’s dedication, skill, and passion have shaped the culture and success of our Club, and his influence will be felt for years to come. Join us in celebrating Steve So'oialo—a true Tawa legend and our newest Life Member!
