Another good win by the Hurricanes vs Highlanders down South. Ardie leading from the front as usual, but a number of interesting things happening in the Team. For instance - the Team is playing as a Team, not a bunch of individuals. They also seem to have each others back. We have a lot of standout
Boys in our side, but two, to my mnd have really stepped up. Proctor is having one of his best Seasons and Roigard is staking a claim. My good Mate Dusty in Pukekohe told us about Roigard a few years ago, when we were at the Supercars. Dusty was and is not wrong.
An ineresting article on Stuff over the weekend about Justin Marshall missing out on the
World Cup commentating. As Marshie said, if it is in part due him having a go at the AB's after a Test Match at which time he suggested they weren't playing for the Jersey, well then he sticks by his argument. Personally, I agree with Marshie - a number of Players are not playing for the history of those who wore their Jerseys previous. And it is not helped by the last 2/3 years of uncertainty at the helm. Have no doubt, we will always support our AB's, but I do think we as a Nation may be
somewhat subdued at least until the Pool Matches are out of the way. There is something very wrong and disjointed in our National Team, By the way, Ardie is never in doubt about how he plays.
Great to see our 7's Team take the Trophy in Singapore. If you have ever been to Singapore, you will know it is extremely hot and humid - without running around.
Argentina, Fiji and Samoa were the standout Teams for sure.
Other Sports news - wasn't it awesome to see Grant Fox with Son Ryan, at the Masters? Ryan finished in tie for 26th in his first Masters. Watch the Ryan "space" over the next while.
Liam Lawson had his first outing in the prestigious Japanese Super Formula. It is said these cars are a very close second to Formula One. Liam claimed a victory on debut, a feat not seen in this Formula since the series incarnation in 1996. His next race gained a 5th spot. Liam could well be our next Formula One Driver.
One hell of a day for Israel Adasanya with his UFC win over Alex Pereira. It seems to me that in the UFC Fight Zone, with the continuous hype and amazing Media coverage, you just cannot completely win, whatever you do to your Opponent. Controversy keeps this sport in the headlines. Pretty enjoyable though and Adasanya deserved his victory.
