Hi ,

Wow, what a weekend of interesting results!! We really must find out where some management are purchasing their half-time oranges! Tawa Premiers leading convincingly at half time, only to be beaten in the second 40 (after the oranges). Our Hurricanes leading at half time by a pretty good score, to just survive a win after the oranges break. Even the Warriors entered the oranges debacle, only difference being that they got the correct ones. Still, it was the first game for our Premiers this season and we showed great potential. The second round will be at the fortress against MSP, who started off with a reasonable win against Avalon. I think our boys will resurrect their season this weekend.

Our Premier 2 boys had a good win vs OBU, further continuing their winning form from last season. I watched both games on YouTube whilst in the Sunny Bay of Plenty. Kind of seems strange with no commentary, but the picture quality was great.  If anyone is keen to give the commentary a go please let Amy know. 

Our Colts had a grading game vs Wellington which they won with a convincing score. 

So good to see an U85 Team back at the Club. Bit of a tough day vs OBU Scallywags, but early days for these boys.

The motor racing segment has been interesting over the last week or so. Starting with Formula E in Sao Paulo, we had two Kiwis at the sharp end; 1st was Mitch Evans, 2nd Nick Cassidy.

Melbourne had 4 Supercar Races over the Australian Grand Prix weekend. Talk about suspect Oranges? Race 1 won by Shane van Gisbergen, with 4 Camaros in the top 4 places. Race 4 red flagged with only 8 of the 15 laps raced.  Race 5, only 11 of the 13 laps completed. Race 6, finally the laps completed.

The AGP was not without drama either, with a number of Yellow Flag moments and a red Flag stoppage. However, the race was won by Verstappen, Hamilton 2nd and Alonso 3rd.

Monday morning saw the IndyCars back on track with our Kiwis Scott Dixon in 5th place, Scott McLaughlin in 6th and Marcus Ericsson in 8th.

The Premier 2's play MSP at 1300hrs at the Fortress followed by the Premiers vs MSP 1445hrs. This should be a very entertaining couple of Games with MSP always travelling with a large Supporter entourage.  

Lets outnumber their Supporters at the Fortress!!

Who would have thought that you would go from cleaning the toilets at the Club during the working bee, to the next weekend having your debut for the Hurricanes.
