2022 CLUB CAPTAINS REPORT
This year has been a very prestigious year with the Club celebrating it’s 75th Anniversary. Such a well organised enjoyable weekend with many coming from afar to commemorate this milestone. Thanks must go to all those who made this event possible.
Our Patron Paul McEnaney is stepping down, thank you for playing your important role in our awesome Club and I
look forward to seeing you next season in a supporters role.
I would like to acknowledge the efforts of our volunteers, coaches & managers for making this another enjoyable & memorable season through what was yet another challenging year and I know I speak for the players themselves too, when I humbly thank you.

TEAM SEASON RAP UP
There were some disruptions in the pre season this year, with trainings looking a bit light on players due to sickness and then a staggering of start for the different grades. The season kicked off with the Premiers starting on the 2nd April
followed by the Premier 2s on the 23rd April, any finally all other teams on the 30th April.
PREMIERS
Our Prems started the season the same as they finished with last minute losses to MSP in the first game and another heartbreaking loss to Petone in the last. There were some great
games in between finishing 5th in the Swindale Shield. Looking like a repeat of 2021 in the
Jubilee Cup round, with fantastic wins over OBU for two consecutive weeks and then Poneke. There were plenty of positives with a mixture of young and experienced players like always giving there all every week.
PREMIER 2
The Prem 2s, well what can you say, unbeaten in 34 games, winning the Ed Chaney and Harper Lock Shields in the process. This team with an 18 year old up to a 30 something with a mix off in betweens, always enjoying themselves, really benefiting from training together as a club squad and reaping the rewards.
COLTS
Our Colts started out a bit slower than hoped but when they got that belief and a few wins under their belt we saw a turn around, with more players coming to trainings and really competing against other teams.
I’d have to say their attitude and humbleness was a pleasure to be
involved with and I thank the Team, Steve and Joe for letting me be apart of it.
RESERVES
Our Reserve Grade team which is a mixture of fathers and sons along with friends had a good year making it to the semi finals. Later in the season with a few wins under their belt they thought
maybe a bit of training might be in order. Next year we might see some of these boys at pre season training.
PRESIDENTS
Our Presidents with Fonz one again at the helm, and a few newer faces also enjoyed their season even though it was a bit disjointed at times.
With enjoyment always being their priority they held on to the Clockwork Gold Cup for another year.
